We built a free trip planner for Tesla road trips

If you’ve ever stood in your driveway wondering where you’d charge on a long drive, this is for you.

We’ve added a free trip planner to TeslaMagz. You type in where you’re starting and where you’re going, pick your car, and it shows you the Supercharger stops along the way, how long each one takes, and roughly how long the whole trip will be.

It works for Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and the Cybertruck. If you drive something else, you can type in your car’s range, battery size and charging speed instead. You can also set a departure time to see when you’d reach each stop, and plan trips between countries.

When you’re happy with a route, you can open it in Google Maps or Apple Maps, download it as a GPX file, print it with QR codes, save it, or send the link to a friend.

It’s still new, so please don’t treat it as gospel. A few things to know:
- The times and range are estimates. Wind, cold, hills and how fast you drive all change them, so leave yourself some room.
- We can’t see which stalls are free or out of order right now. So, check the Tesla app before you count on a stop.
- Our Supercharger data comes from public sources and community maps. Some places are more complete than others, so a brand-new station might be missing, or a closed one might still show.
- Apple Maps only takes the start and the end of your trip. Google Maps keeps your charging stops.
- If the planner can’t find a charger within reach, it tells you. If the route service is busy, it gives you a rough straight-line guess and says so.

If you give it a go, let us know in the comments how it did, especially if a stop didn’t make sense or a charger is missing. If a station’s details are wrong, there’s a “Report a problem” option on its page and we’ll take a look.
