Suggestion: Different Sounds for Left and Right Lane Changes
When Full Self-Driving or Autopilot initiates a lane change, the vehicle should use a different alert sound for a left lane change versus a right lane change.
Currently, the signaling sound confirms that the car intends to move, but it is difficult for the driver to immediately know which direction it plans to go without looking at the screen. When driving manually, you already know your own intention. With self-driving, the vehicle’s intention is not always obvious.
Using two clearly distinguishable sounds—one for left and one for right—would make lane changes easier to follow, improve driver awareness, and help the driver react more quickly
