Hi

I am a new model Y owner, love it, have a question-I am not a techie, have a bit of a learning curve, just received an error message trying to use Groc, stating "You've reached your limit, log in or..."

What is my limit, and where would I log in?

Thanks, any help will be appreciated.

Congratulations on your new Model Y! Tesla provides a limited "guest" allowance for the Grok AI assistant, which typically caps out at around 7 to 10 requests every couple of hours (or roughly 20-30 queries a day). Every time you ask Grok a general question or ask it to add navigation stops, it counts against this free limit...
If you want to bypass the basic limit, you can log in using a personal Grok account (associated with an X / Twitter account). If you have a paid X Premium or SuperGrok subscription, logging in grants you significantly higher usage limits.

Here is exactly where to find the login screen on your Model Y:
  1. Tap the App Launcher (the icon with multiple dots or the arrow at the bottom of your touchscreen).
  2. Tap the Grok app icon.
  3. Look for the Sign In button or the Profile Icon (usually located in the corner of the Grok window).
  4. Your car will display a prompt or a QR code. Scan the QR code with your smartphone camera or follow the on-screen instructions to log in using your phone.
If you do not have a paid account and want to keep using it for free, you don't necessarily have to log in:
  • Just wait it out: The free guest limit usually resets automatically after a rolling window of about 2 hours (or sometimes 24 hours depending on the daily cap).
  • Fix a potential glitch: Many Tesla owners note that this limit message sometimes pops up as a bug even if you haven't used it much. If it seems stuck, try a soft reset. Hold down both scroll wheels on your steering wheel at the same time until the main screen goes black and reboots. This frequently clears out the error message.
Welcome to the Tesla family!!!
