Good news, I left the 16V battery unplugged for 20 min and the pumps stopped working and the system came back on. I don't know if the system purges air for nearly 10 hours on just one hose being swapped out or if the 16V battery needed to be unplugged for 20 min...., but that is what it took...

I disconnected the 16v battery for 15 minutes and the pumps kept running off the primary battery/inverter. It looks like I will have to let the system run overnight.
