Just returned a leased Ionia 5, my first totally electric EV which I liked but my wife and I thought we might take a look at other EV options and wanted to start with looking a Tesla and, politics aside, be me quite interested in the Model Y and actually built it on the website without pushing the “buy” button. This was around mid-December and saw the favorable lease program ending by December 26 so decided to go to a Tesla showroom in nearby Camarillo, CA. We were TOTALLY sold on this model learning that it was a 2026 Model Y, refurbished from earlier models. It had all the features we wanted that only came with premium trims on other EVs so we redid the build and this time pushed the build/buy button! A deal killer was to NOT be able to get the Quicksilver exterior which was not available on the lot or within 50, 100, 200 miles. Ths is why we had it built with possession by around Christmas! Very much impressed with the car, the drive, the handling but completely AWED by the ever improving technology! I’m a retired SVP with Morgan Stanley, a professional photographer, avid mountain biker, world traveler and traditional archer and living life imy 80s!
